Is the reason why he is so good is that he takes the ball on the rise better and faster than anybody else? Also, is that why he can't handle Nadal's topspin because it is impossible to take that kind of spin on the rise with a 1HBH without shanking a lot?

Yes, it is one of the many things that make him good.

It's not like he has some 'secret' that everyone else doesn't know which makes him good. He's just good. He takes the ball on the rise, he hits it hard and with a lot of spin, he's quick on his feet and has good defense.

It has been said before and I agree. If Nadal was not a lefty, this conversation would not be taking place.
