I think the most I have paid is $100 for 2 shirts and 1 pair of shirts. I hazard a guess and say most of you have paid a lot more..

at least 150 for a brand new Tacchini from sampras line 1990. maybe about the same for a Nike agassi and Mcenroe. I lost a 1990 Nike shirt to a guy on **** and it went for $425. I even wrote the buyer, thinking it was a scam to bid up the shirt, but he wouldn't sell. Said he really loved the shirt

wow, sounds like some awesome looking shirts! Got a picture by any chance?

$50 for some Nike Polo dry-fit, don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon.

42.91 for the new green RG green crew. I just bought the shirt, this was with taxes and shipping. I consider this to be alot for just a shirt, but it's still less expensive than Nike. I think I might update this later after seeing some of the new stuff from Adidas and they new Edge line for Novak. Great colors and designs.

I generally try to limit my spending to a max of $100 for a shirt and shorts purchase. If something is higher than that I wait for it to go on sale. But for some reason (maybe common sense lol) I refuse to pay more than $50 for a item. Maybe if I didn't purchase so many outfits a year I might allow myself to spend more for a single item.

including customs fees (So-So Britain), i paid $62.11 per shirt for three nike Airline Polos last summer.

the shirts themselves were $55 each i think. anything above $55 each per shirt is just ridiculous. :)

the only reason i bought those is becuas i knew i would probably never run into anyone wearing those. i would never spend that much on a shirt knowing that tomorrow at the club, 3 others guys will wearn the same thing.

no, i have bought a bunch of them off the auction site over the past 10 years. There's quite a collector's market for McEnroe, Agassi, Borg...Borg polos can go for $1000, like the ones worn by him featuring patches from his other sponsors like SAS (a Swedish airline?). There was an Agassi white wimbledon polo from 1992 that went for $400 a few years ago. McEnroe Checkerboard polos from the 1985-1987 era go for about $200. The Agassi 1989 and McEnroe 1989 polo with purple sleeves is also a rare and popular bird. That usually goes for about $200. Alot of Lendl's old Adidas polos go for 50 to $100 varying on the condition. The Becker Fila items, especially the 89 wimbledon sweater vest can go for 100-200. Lendl Mizuno items are also pretty hot. Edberg stuff isn't terribly expensive, usually $50 a shirt or more depending on the design. Sampras tacchini is popular, but Sampras Nike is not (unless they are black Nike air oscillates). Courier stuff is cheap.

also, Borg Fila shirts sold for $125 retail back in 1980. They were a pricy sell. Alot of the old designs are on 80scasualclassics . co. uk

I wouldn't spend more than $20 for a shirt or shorts. Even that is high for me. Usually, I find clothes on sale for about $10.

I agree. It's the actual shirt b/c of the RF and white fabric on white the buttons are sewn on. That is different from the retail version of the item. I wrote the buyer and he said he got it "from the Federer bag" in Beijing. There is a similar one on Roger's own web site for auction going for > $2000, but that one has his signature. Might be a peice of history. I would doubt he actually wore it. It might be one of the shirts he never got around to using.

Guys, that Federer Olympics polo is not Federer's actual shirt, it's a Federer retail Olympics polo from Niketown London that was converted to make it look like Federer's actual Olympics shirt. The guy selling it on the big auction site probably removed the buttons at the placket and sewed on a white cloth over the original red and re-sewed the buttons. If you notice, the RF logo at the bottom of the placket is a little blurred, I think it was probably ironed on or something - the RF on Federer's actual shirts are a laser cut monogram which reveals the colour of the placket beneath, in this case white.

Also, Roger's Olympics shirt uses No-Sew technology (like his Wimbledon 2008 shirt), which means it has bonded seams instead of stitching, and there is an obvious overlap at the sleeves and shoulder seams, the shirt in the picture has traditional stitched seams. But the biggest giveaway is the printed Nike label beneath the collar (this is a standard Nike retail label) - Federer's custom shirts have sewn on labels with no sizes printed on it (because its customised).

I hope no one in this forum bought the shirt because they would have paid a whole lot of money for a fake (well, an official Nike Federer Olympics replica, but not the real deal as the auction seller claims). In fact, I think this is not the first time the seller is auctioning this shirt, he sold an identical one a few months ago, and before that, he had another one on with the white placket but without the "RF" at the bottom.

I'll dish out big bucks for shorts. I still have shorts from 6 years ago. Shorts are the most important thing I wear (other than shoes of course) I could care less about my shirt, cotton, polo, sleeveless, no shirt, I don't care, but shorts have to be perfect.

hahaha yeah I got that white lacoste hat with the crock on the side...I dont know if they still make that kind.

I found it in Golf Town (golf store) for $40 CAD two years ago.

I cant find myself spending more than $40 on shirt or shorts. For golf its different though....sometimes I can find deals on J Lindeberg stuff that will be double my $40 "limit".

Sorry to drag up such an ancient thread but, darn, those shirts are just so dope. I've been trying to track one down for ages.

I already have the Wilander 'scribble' shirt, jersey and tracksuit top from the 87 USO/88 AO, the Wilander horizontal 'bars' shirt and tracksuit top from the 88 USO (slightly diff colour variant though), the Sampras 'chalk-duster' and Wilander 'spray paint' shirts from their encounter at the 89 USO and a few others...

If anyone has one of the archer shirts lying about I'd be happy to consider taking it off your hands. So dope!

most have paid was $35 for RF 2010 clay season polo. The least was $10 for the 2008 RF AO polo.

My wife has paid full retail twice for shirts for me as a gift. The RF 2009 Wimbly polo (Christmas) and the 2009 AO green Verdasco polo (anniversary).

The most i've spent on shorts was probably $18 ($16.99+tax)?

Not sure if this counts but I sold a Babolat zip-up sweatshirt last year for about $250 on the bay. Some lady absolutely had to have it for their son.

Funny thing is, I had tried to sell the thing here on the boards for like $10-15 a week earlier and there was zero intrest:)

Lacoste is my guilty pleasure. 2 polos I both bought at retail for about $105 each and bought the shorts at full price at a whopping 80 bucks if I remember.... I feel bad. Next is Nadal US open gear. Snagged both shirts for 48 each and got the shorts at full
