Anyone has compared with both??? or just the matter of printing change only...
I'm in Hong Kong. It is hard to find a 2nd POG MP now (the new one rarely can find for ~US$108). I tried my friend old printing POG MP and really surprise about the control of this babe.... I could really hit hard with tons of spin.... really great that it had great direction control....
I'm currently playing with Yonex RDX500MP... but I feel the head weight not light enough... and compare with POG MP... not as solid though....
since POS MP has 14x18 string pattern... what sort of string to pair this babe?? poly hybrid??
Anyone has any comments??
Cheers,
fancheung :D

So what does this have to do with old and new POGs? Well, I use the POG and I just use poly in it like supersmashhoney or babolat hurricane at 60-62lbs. I like it and the 14x18 stringjob softens up the string bed a little. I guess alot of people would complain that it is to high for poly... But I think I'm gonna try some other strings too besides poly.

Fancheung from TB?
Anyway, did u try the 2nd generation POG, the one with 4 strips and 2 gold strips at 3 and 9?
People say the the new onehit similarly to the second generation. At the least 2nd gen that i am using right now has similar specification to the newest one.
However, I think the new one is a little bit stiffer than the 2nd generation, as it has been around for at least 10 years.
I love the Big Banger Alu 16. I tried both multi and gut, but BB Alu gives me the best.

Oh... yes ..I'm from TB. May I know who are you btw?? Where do you from?
I tried once with a TBer's POG MP..... the new one has the "straight shaft" printing at the fork.
I got a pack of Alu Touch Hybrid from TW... dunno it has a better feel on POG.
any effects on the new POG since stiffer?? elbow problem?? or more power???
Anyway, thanks for your comments.

Who's POG did u try? May be thats mine.. haha
POG is pretty soft on arm since it has a nice heft and its extreme open string pattern gives u a pretty soft string bed. I don't have any elbow problem with it. I did experience elbow pain with lighter rackets, but not with POG, no matter how hard i hit.

i have the second generation, but it is hard to get a matched pair. I did measure 3 of my POG sbut none of them is similar to each other. One is so much stiffer and the other one has more HL.
I am planning to get the new generation in order to have a matched pair. So actually I wanna get information from people who have hit with both generation. Do they play similar?

The newer pogs are stiffer and lighter than 90's pogs.

I found that to be true also. My 80's POG Mid is more flexible than the newer POG Mid.
The older POG are also much heavier.
When people say the POG are too stiff, then I pretty much know they were playing the newer POG.

If I remember correctly, it's 107 but often called 110 for simplicity reason.

What generation of POG is that? 1st or second? Got any gold strips at 3 and 9?

This POG next to the PC600. Yes, it has gold stripes at 9 and 3:00.

Another way to sort of make it more flexible is to get an leftover string and string it up at a maximum tension(90lbs. for my stringer's machine) to break in the resin and the graphite, let it rest for a day, and string it with your normal set-up at your usual tension. Although it is my first time doing this, my newer POG MP felt more flexible, like the c.1987 model, after playing with it and re-stringing it every month.
