Looking to join a 4.5 adult league now that I've been out of college for a few years and looking to get back into it. However, need to join USTA. Any discounts out there for USTA memberships?

Just in time... keep your eyes peeled for the USTA Promos commercials during the US Open Series. Where initial USTA Membership is $20. I usually tell all my friends to join this time of year.

Personally, I'd like my money back. Complete waste of $. Useless, inept, and hopelessly incompetent organization.

My advice? Don't join the USTA until you know a team has a spot for you.

Totally agreed. The USTA leagues are somewhat of a joke.

If you think the membership fees are expensive, then you probably should look elsewhere. You have team fees each season plus you have court costs for all home matches. This for me has been around $60 each season and I am on cheap public courts for home matches. USTA Tournaments are usually $30-50+ a pop. Look into local rec leagues, USTA flex/kswiss/Peach leagues as alternatives.

C'mon everyone...I'm not a fan of the USTA, but with your membership you do get a couple of mags in addition to being able to participate in the leagues or tournaments. Still worth it despite what you might think of the USTA.

If someone can afford to go to the US Open regularly, do you honestly think that cost of membership would even be an issue? Another comment from left field.
