woot, ill be there aswell all week and go to Toronto for the WTA, and welcome to TT. as for practice schedule, I'm not too sure, do they even tell people the practice times for players? Don't think they want a whole bunch of people to swarm the courts when either Rafa or Roger is pacticing.

I was in Montreal and here's how it works. Coaches request a court for a particular time if they want it for the next day. Late in the evening the practice court sheet and the play schedule are both posted on the Players Info. Table. There are also some volunteer people sitting at the table to answer any questions the players might have. This all happens in a little room off the main lobby.

Guests in the same hotel where the players are staying can also look at these sheets whever they want to and get into the middle of the throng of players looking at the sheets.

We stayed at the players' hotel and saw players everywhere ...(& Brad Gilbert by himself...wonder why LOL) .but as guests you do not ask them for autographs or bother them except to make idle chit chat...you're both just guests in the hotel..I talked to Calleri and wife for a while but the talked focused on their lovely 1 years old ..he stood their holding her, and I talked to the wife about how she managed taking the baby on the tour (her mom was with them) not a word to Calleri except about the child...not a word about tennis.

Access to the pracice courts is easily available to all...I stood right behind Safin's body as he sat on a bench and talked to his trainer. A list of all players & times assigned to each court is posted at the court. I think there were 14 courts, all busy, nothing fancy about them.

When I was there 2 years ago Nadal practiced on Court 2 which was cordonned off from the public, and I never did see him around the hotel..not any of the top 10 players as a matter of fact. They probably stay in other hotels (or lock themselves in their rooms and use room service) And you never did know who you would ride an elevator with. I met Davydenko and brother with take out coffee from an off-hotel coffee take out shop and I asked him if ther coffee was any good (in Russian) He repled da and that was the end of our conversation.

Montreal is a really fun tournament, casual, folksy in a Canadian way, great sight lines. Reasonably price and accessible by a great subway (metro) system . You'll have a great time.

Yes, I'm looking for assigned player practice court times.

I believe, not 100% sure, players have to practice on practice courts at the tournament - so fans are able to see them. Otherwise I'm sure most of them can go to private clubs and train - then just show up for their matches.

If pound_cat is correct - there is now way to know who's going to be where until the that morning.

pound cat enjoy both tourneys!

That's right unless, as my post said, you were ar their hotel and had a chance to look at the court list late the night before or at breakfast time. Otherwise you find out ny wandering around the practice court area &/or asking one of the many volunteers if they know where players X is. Or follow the mob if it's someone in the top ten esp. Fed/Nadal. Safin also draws hordes of screamers.

Have fun whoever is going and if you haven't eaten it, try poutine...fries, gravy, cheese. Yum...once a year
