View Full Version : MSV Focus Hex vs. Luxilon Big Banger Alu Rough

Alright the title pretty much explains it all...I'm just wondering how you would compare and rate the MSV to the Big Banger. I have been using big banger for probably 2 years now and I've heard some good things about MSV so I was thinking about trying them. Thanks for the help.

Power: Alu Rough
Control: Focus Hex
Fast swing speed control: Alu Rough
Spin Alu Rough
Feel: Alu Rough
Comfort: Focus Hex
Tension Stability: Focus Hex
Focus Hex felt extremely plasticy. The stringbed felt inconsistent as well, and sometimes the ball would randomly fly off the stringbed. Luxilon is the ultimate control string for big hitters, but if you're an all courter Focus Hex would have better control. Luxilon has never held tension well so Focus Hex gets the nod there. Focus Hex lasted longer than I expected and Alu Rough lasted shorter than expected. It took about two hours to break them both.

Rough for everything except durability and holding tension
In my opinion Alu rough is the way to go unless you have price issues with it.
Keep in mind I have tried rough 20 times and MSV hex twice

Yeah cost is a kind of on my mind here but I think I would rather have the better string for my play than worry about the cost. As of right now I'm going to stick with the Rough unless my budget gets a little wacky. Thanks for the help so far/

No problem, kirschbaum proline 2 is better and cheaper then alu. Give it a try.

MSV Hex is much easier on your arm and is a better value in my opinion.
BB ALU Rough gave me severe tennis elbow!

If you can afford ALU rough, stick with it.
