No certificate of authenticity, but a nice story.

Pretty cool, I wonder how much it'll go for. It seems the signature is only on the cover.

thats even better, you get the new racquet, plus the cover with the MASTER'S autograph.

Now lets just hope he wins a couple majors...

Is it any wonder that professional athletes don't like to sign items...The next day they end up on ****...

the signature would be to easy to fake- just look at it

Yes it would be-but it's a nice story, and the racquet alone is worth $180.

I MIOGH wanna get it cause i might be switching to the aero pro drive, itll probably go cheap. i mean, nadal sig plus new racquet=amazing.

Seriously, unless it goes for a lot higher than what a new aeropro drive would go for, I think it's worth it... Nadal's going to be amazing.

Plus, for anyone that uses this racket they are getting a great deal because it is new. Anyone who uses this stick should definently get it.

So here's the question:
IF YOU GOT IT, WOULD YOU USE IT?
Thoughts?

Nadal's sig is on the cover of course you would use it and save the cover.

Stuck,
So then instead of having the original mint racquet and cover (that Nadal signed) and held in his hands, you'd have a mint cover and a racquet that some schmuck used. The former seems like the way to go.

If you wanna play with a stick like that, buy another one - they're pretty cheap.

I wouldn't say the $180 is cheap......

It's very suspect. The same item was posted on our MB, and check out these sigs which we know are real -- especially look at the R:

Signing for charity in Valencia:

And then signing for VamosRafael.com over a year ago:

The signature just isn't the same, IMO.

And in a land far, far and away, many years ago, I represented Pat Rafter in trying to get rid of his forgeries on **** and other auction places.

There were load of them, and his brother and I worked to decrease them.

Not to say this isn't real. It may be.

But one thing I can tell you from that experience is that many of the autographed items on e-bay are fakes. There are some legit ones out there, but after that experience, I came away with the idea if you want an autographed item you better get it yourself at a tourney, or you need to go through a charity of sponsor authorized by the player. Otherwise, you don't know what you are getting.

Just sharing my experience from a few years ago.

You've dealt with Mr. Rafter before? Oh wow, you're my goddess now!!! Did you talk with him or just deal with him indirectly?

I dealt with Geoff Rafter mostly, but yes, if needed, Pat would get involved. It was a long time ago -- 4 or 5 years.

But Pat was just so unhappy that people were buying stuff on e-bay that he didn't sign.

And at the time, almost everything that was supposedly signed by him was not.

so again, be wary.

And I have met Pat, Geoff. and his family, etc. Spent a lovely day in Barcelona with his Mom Jocelyn. Again, long time ago.

After that I did the Roddick site. And now I do the Nadal one.

Still, beware of forgeries!!!!!

That's pretty intense and a big travesty that people have such low integrity to forge the signatures of such great people.

That's pretty intense and a big travesty that people have such low integrity to forge the signatures of such great people.

Yep, they do. And tennis is only a small part of it. Other sports celebs are greater targets, and certainly the big entertainment stars are the key. It's definitely "a basement business."

And what we found with Pat, back in his heyday, is that they were mass-prodicing autographed pics. He never authorized the photo, and never signed them, but they were showing up and selling for quite a bit. Those were easy to shut down. And then when we saw autographed tennis balls that looked a bit suspect, and we asked about them, those were pulled off the market, too.

Again, just be very careful. I can't emphasize enough, unless you are bidding on a player-sanctioned charity auction, if you want an autographed item by a player, you best get it yourself.

That racquet was easy to spot as a fake after seeing the two other pics posted. Wow someone really got ripped off. Even though it didn't go for a fortune, you still have a racquet with a bogus sig on it.

Yeah, most likely fake... Good job, VamosRafa.
