lately i have been trying to find a great hybrid combo. there are many poly's out there for my mains, but for my crosses VS gut seems to be the best option. there is nothing wrong with that besides the fact that VS gut is 50 bucks for 2 hybrid jobs, which i will be able to afford, but not all the time. i would like to be able to have a large stock of my strings. are there any strings the play just like VS gut and are a significant amount cheaper?

thanks

No. However most people are willing to compromise with a higher end multi like kgut pro / gamma professional / or even xcel.

You could also try a budget gut like global or even klip and see if the difference is bearable.

Try stringing the multis a few pounds lower than your usual gut tension...most people agree it helps bring out the gut like feel these strings promise.

Try it and see how they feel. In my opinion gamma professional and kgut pro are a little better. I also liked nrg2.

X-1, Gamma Pro, Babolat Tonic, Wilson Natural gut, Gamma Natural Gut are all great playable strings and cheaper than VS Gut.

I am using full Klip legend and I used to have VS Gut. VS Gut is softer I think but somehow I think Klip give me more spin. VS Gut is more durable though.

how much more durable? what would you consider more durable, klip legend or x-1?

TNT2 Pro Plus 17L -- very nice multi, full and as a cross.

Wilson Natural Gut at TW is $42.00 a whopping 5 cents more than Babolat VS.
