He was truly an innovator. He was an active musician past his ninetieth birthday. I saw a picture of his hands and couldn't believe he could still play, with his arthritis. Can't say I loved his music but he was unique. But hey, I'm a Fender guy

I am just surprised only 2 people even bothered to open the thread, much less comment on his life/passing.
I guess seeing that someone was 94 kept the young crowd out. However anyone who appreciates the electric guitar should raise a beer to the man who invented it upon his passing.
hey the word is overused but Les Paul was a great guitar player, and his guitars changed rock forever. it sounds like he was always full of life and ability right to the end, playing a show just a coupla months before he went. that's how i wanna be, maybe it's how art blakey said it
"yessir i'm gonna stay with the youngsters, when these get too old i'm gonna get some younger ones.... keeps the mind active."
seems like he forged friendships with the great les paul players and played and loved life the whole way. i hope so.
