I think I seen a shirt from that online catalog that had the 2 new propulse colors. I hope the new shirts dont look like that. If I remember correctly it looked almost as crazy as a tie dye....dont take my word for it though.

I never really thought he was a good fit with Lacoste, the all-American type of guy that he is and his love of the baggy clothing never really went with what Lacoste stand for imo.

Yeah, but the current windowpane shirts look pretty fratboyish to me.

Well, Babolat clothing looks good to me. I just hope they make some nice baggy stuff for us sloppy Americans.

Dang, I was hoping the Under Armour rumors were true. I love UA gear, and they would offer a ton more tennis stuff if A-Rod was their man. Plus, his frat boy persona would fit in with their blockhead gym rat roid rage campaign.

What happened to Reebok...He wore some kickass gear during his US Open in 04. Back then, he even pulled of the visor look Lol.

true..
that stiffler look with the visor the blue shirt and the red shorts was pure pwnage.
But since Adidas bought Reebok they don't focus on tennis anymore.
They use to sponsor Jankovic, but when she decided to forget she was a tennis player they don't re-signed with her.

That's true, it's not really what you think of when Lacoste comes to mind though.

When you see some of the classic and elegant stuff they give the French players, that's what their brand identity is to me anyway.

Absolutely. Remember the red, tan and white stuff Corretja wore about 6 or 7 years ago? To me, that and the polo from 1933 IS Lacoste. Elegant and athletic.

But, I prefer sweating in Italian clothes for the tennis, biking and soccer I do. Less expensive and actually cooler, imho. Well, here's hoping Babolat gets it going over here with some clothing that's as great as their shoes, bags, sticks and strings.

Roddick is a Reebok man, who he turned his back on a few years ago.

He should go back to Reebok. Fits his All-American image much better than snooty French Lacoste.

I don't think Roddick ever sold much clothing for Lacoste in the U.S. He wears sizes that are too big and baggy, not the slim fitting European style that Lacoste is designed for. Just look at how well Federer wears his clothes. Heck, it's so hard to even find Lacoste tennis clothes in the U.S. Paying Roddick millions of dollars a year is definitely not worth it for Lacoste. I doubt they ever made any money from that deal.

Yea that is true. I always thought it was weird to see all the Lacoste commercials w/ flashback shots of Rene Lacoste and elegance, then fast forward to hard nosed Roddick ripping the ball. It always is a strange image whenever I see that commercial. He never really fit the Lacoste image guys like Clement, Wawrinka, seem to.

Looks like he's going to go the way of Blake - leaving one of the big companies to go w/ a lesser company so that he can have his own signature line. I know FILA isn't that "lesser known" but compared to Nike and Adidas it's a little guy, at least in America. And Babolat is even lesser.

And I agree. Roddick + visor = WIN

Reebok has never been able to hold on to big name players- they once were a factor (in the early 1990s) but now aren't even on the same playing field as Nike and Adidas and now even Under Armour has passed Reebok.

My hope is the Babolat keeps their prices reasonable w/ Roddick coming aboard. Wonder if he'll be wearing the real Roddick line of clothes or just a PJ'd version :).

Doubt Bab is going to do the trucker hat thing. The apparel I've seen looks a little too much like their shoes. They match waay too perfectly. All they have is Babolat written diagonally across the chest. Nothing special if you ask me. Hopefully they will get a new designer and get something good going.

Yeah, I didn't see one piece of clothing that I liked. The design does make for a cool looking shoe imo. But the clothing reminds me of the movie Tron for some reason. Weird....:???:

It's not a rumor BUT it's still not official. To quote from this article:

"Team Roddick has yet to confirm the American will wear full Babolat clothing and shoes for the remainder of his career, however the two parties are in talks and are coming to an agreement."

It is likely but not set in stone. Depends on $$$ of course. But if you watched the Rogers Masters or Washington tourney they played this Roddick/Lacoste commercial so much. So much I wished Roddick would change brands. So... maybe he will =)

So far, it's just industry rumor. It won't be announced until the contract is done, and Roddick's contract allows it to be announced. It CERTAINLY won't be on his own Twitter feed before then. Roddick's current contract with Lacoste was a 5 year deal, and his new deal is still being negotiated.

As for Reebok, it won't happen. Adidas owns Reebok and signing Roddick is far from their business strategy going forward.

Hey guys before putting down the Babolat shirts and such you should try them. I live here in the states; but I have purchased a few of the shirts online from the UK. They may not be my favorite but they are quality shirts none the less. Have a very soft feel to them. My only complaint might be is that they tend to run a bit warm. I like to be cool when playing. Good for indoors play in the winter though. And yes I would buy more of them again. Just waiting for them to sell in the US in 2010. Will make it much easier to aquire them.

I agree about Babolat needing to step it up on the design and fit department. Most racquet companies make horrible clothes for their players, maybe with the exception of Elena's skimpy Yonex dresses. I just hope they don't make Andy look ridiculous the way Fila clothes look on James Blake. It just doesn't look right on him.

Judging from their shoes colors and color combinations; the clothing line should be junk! I of course hate their tennis shoe looks. I try on a couple of their shoes and they were okay but look like junk to me.
