They make Yonex 850 which is a soft multifilament and from memory plays pretty similar to 880. The softest non-gut string I have used is probably NRG2 but I'm not a huge multi user.

I've heard good things about Polyolefin composition strings but I've only ever tried IsoSpeed Classic. I would recommend a try on these as they have quite a unique feel which some feel is more akin to gut due to the ribbon construction. I believe Head make an IntelliTour string with this composition also.

Poster Valjean knows almost every multi there is from what I've seen so hopefully he will comment.

What did you like/dislike about the 880?

880 had good power and soft I could play 7 days a week no soreness I have tried gamma ask, yonex 850,babolat power all left my elbow hurting, I think gut maybe the only thing left for me. I tried isospeed hated it.

Prince's Premier, the one with Softflex. An' here, by and by, is a list you should know of: http://www.racquetsportsindustry.com/issues/200809/200809allstrings.html

The Gosen Techgut Remplir is a very very soft string, probably the softest one I've ever tried. It is very cheap if you buy a couple sets at a time in TW. The durability is quite poor but if you are not a hard hitter you should be Okay.

Btw, any buddy tried this string?

The softest string I've ever tried is Pro Supex Maxim Touch, in 1.25mm diameter. But I've used it only on hybrid stirngjobs, never in full jobs.

Isn't there an updated version of this list?

Try Ektelon PowerPlay (http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageACPRINCE-PPP16.html) or Alpha Gut 2000 (http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageACALPHA-AG200016.html) if you are looking for a multi string.

IsoSpeed Pro Classic 17 is the softest Ive used (without using Natural Gut).

Sold here on TW.

However your "soft" Yonex strings are not really "soft" so many many multi's probably will feel fine to you if you look at the racquet sports chart.

Egads. Do you have something against RSI that you couldn't look this up too...

Yonex 880 Soft is not at all soft compared to Iso Speed Professional Classic.

Head Fibergel/Fibergel Power is the softest stuff that I've ever come across.

True. 100% agree on that.

Moreover, the Tecnifibre XR3 is as soft as the Head Fibergel but with more power, IMO. (I've been playing with the Fibergel for years, and I've just tried the TF XR3, which I found really great. Moreover, it seems that the XR3 had VERY few tension loss since I strung it, one month ago. Played with these strings 4 times since then).

Both are great IMO. Maybe, for what I felt, the Fibergel has more shock absorption, whereas the XR3 has more power, and is nearly as comfortable as the Head.

Hope this'll help !

Cheers !

Well this is what I thought also. The Isospeed has a very different feel though so maybe that changes perceptions.

i have been using yonex 850 for several years, and found it to be soft and durable. i've tried wilson nxt, prince syn., gosen og, but found 850 to be softest.

I get a really good string out of China, not sure the exact composition other than it is synthetic. Great feel, durability and cost around $10\40ft set.

email me direct if interested. James.hudson@navistar.com

good luck

without a doubt, (if you are looking non-gut) Pacific 'Power Twist' is by far the softest string imaginable...feels like hitting with a 'pillow'.
