Used Black Code and X-One as a hybrid and never looked back.

I feel its a bit of a waste to use expensive multi on the cross as its only purpose is to soften up the string bed, and the main playing characteristics is still determined by the main strings. Am I right?
So if multifeel and dynamite both at $9, could do the same job to a similar effect to the $15 x-one, why would you use a more expensive multi? Also multifeel retains tension just as well as the x-one, so what are the advantages of x-one really?
If you can't feel the difference.. may as well use Prince tournament nylon 15L. :)

there are actually quite a few advantages to x-1. it will be more durable and should give more spin and controllable power compared to other multis. it will often soften up the string bed, as you have said. its soft but not mush, so it makes the bed feel crisp and always freshly strung. the main does impact the bed more, but when you think about it, on a good hit more crosses than mains will contact the ball, so you will get a good amount of power and feel from the cross, and extra spin can never hurt even if it wont effect the bed that much.

So for me, I use a syn gut as I find multis to be too powerful unless I jack up the tension. I'd rather play a syn gut at a lower tension.
So I use Gosen tuff 15L at 2 lbs lower than the 17g BC. This is working extemely well for me and the gosen is under $2 a pack.

I have been very impressed X-1 17, using it the mains with MSV Hex on the crosses!
I plan to try X-1 17 with Black Code 17 on the crosses, like Tipsy.

I've always used X-1 in a hybrid as a cross and its a great combo but the problem is it breaks fast. So after over a year with this combo I'm experimenting with other combination's, something that is more durable.
