View Full Version : cheapest machine with fixed clamps

well first of all, I'd like to say I've been string with my klippermate for a long time now. it works perfect except the only thing i don't like is the floating clamps. I'm looking to possibly upgrade to a newer machine and was wondering what is the cheapest one out there with fixed clamps. can be table top, dropweight, whatever, as long it has fixed clamps which is all I'm worried about.

I say if you're going to upgrade, go for the gusto and get one with a nicer mounting system and perhaps a different tensioning system, unless you are A-OK with a DW. I'd prefer something with a linear gripper...

The Alpha Pioneer DC Plus is an excellent machine for the home stringer. It has fixed clamps, and the linear gripper works great. I get a real quality string job in about 40-45 minutes (no rush).

thanks everyone fro the recommendations. i'll look into each of those, however i'm kind of thinking that maybe I should save up for the time when I absolutely need a new stringer. now is kind of a really want mode for me, but classes just started at my university and i've still got alot of time ahead of me.
thanks again for the suggestions, and i'll let you guys know if i buy one soon
