View Full Version : Why Prokennex rackets have to go one full string job?

Hi all,

I have read threads that say Prokennex recommends to do a full string job on their rackets... I have two Ki15 PSE's and I'm wondering if there is any risk on going hybrid. Also, I took a look at their website and didn't see anything. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

No worries. Not an issue at all. FWIW I have several PK Kinetic prototypes with various layups for ATP players. Every one of them (sent to me by a former PK manager in their original ATP form) was a hybrid.

Il Mostro,

Thank you very much for you response! You know, I was afraid about the Kinetics and something, but good to hear, I will go hybrid next time.

My pleasure. You have a pair of solid racquets -- enjoy.

I have two Ki15 PSE's too. Both have hybrid string jobs. I have had no problems.

I have three Pk Pro 7g's, all have hybrids, no problems. In fact, the grommets are nicely enlarged for hybrid stringing cross string tie on, so PK must have had that in mind.

Thanks folks! What setups do you use in your rackets?

I'm using SPPP today, but I like Weiss Cannon Explosiv! very much, and I just received my sets of Signum Blackline Power. I had used Weiss Cannon on the mains, but I'm afraid to put on Ki15 PSE, even on high tension (I'm thinking on 66). What do you think?

I use Black Magic in the mains and Gosen Micro in the crosses and 56/58 both in 17g. I have also tried Spin-X and Gosen. I like Black Magic better.

I've got Ki5 and I am also using hybrids. My current setup is Nat Gut (VS) & Kirschbaum ProLine II (at low tension - 48). It took me a while to adjust my strokes coming from Wilson nCode 6.1 Team 18x20, but now I am enjoying PK a lot. It is a great and very comfy racket.

On the pro 7g's I use MSV Focus Hex in the mains & Pro Supex Maximum Touch for the crosses. I have tried a lot of different hybrids and found this to be the best in terms of power, spin, and control.

I have ki 5s and ki 10PSE's and all have gut hybrids in them. They're doing fine.

I have a Golden Ace, maybe I'll hybrid it.

I have some Golden Aces too, and at least one of them has a hybrid job in it. They're nice frames.
