What can people say? Perhaps you are getting tired of it.
Also, maybe you have no real goals that you REALLY want to work for, and because of that is losing interest. You have no path in your tennis life mabybe

Play for the vain aspect of it. There's a certain attitude a lot of tennis players possess and people envy it. And now everyone's going to yell at me. :)

Seriously, you need some goals dude. Get some guys who you can really get pumped to play against. The best tennis matches are like a fight. You have to really get phyched up and leave it all out there on the court. Get some players who can really push you to your limits. I love the rush of playing. I love the pressure to improve. I love putting in hours on end on the practice court.
Good goals help too. For example, I am going to try and walk on to my college's tennis team next year. I have only been playing for one year, i am not an expert, but i practice my mind out and play my heart out every single day. We are a small school with about 1500 students. That is my goal.
You need goals too. Join a club. Join a league. Make your goal to improve enough to beat your playing partners, or better yet, someone signifigantly better than yourself. People will notice how good you are getting. You will see that practice pay off, and so will people around you. You will be proud of yourself. Strive for personal excellence. NOW GET OUT THERE AND GO!
p.s. I know i went a little overboard, but i just get so pumped up when I am talking about tennis. I love to share my motivation with others!!

I think its really important to play with your friends too. PLaying competively all the times is just really boring. Also, dont play TOO often, as in like every single day. Take some breaks, it helps your mind and body settle down.

I agree... don't play for about 2~3 weeks but keep watching tennis on T.V.
we will be dying to get out there and play again...

If you are playing tennis for the image and nothing else, then you destined for a short tennis career of mediocrity. A sort of poser if you will. The motivation has to come from within, not from seeking approval from others.

LOL, - I don't pay JUST for the image so don't worry. That was really poetic though. In conclusion - I was 95% kidding when I posted my first response.
See? Told ya someone would reprimand me. :)

What specific things make you feel not interesting about tennis ?
In my case, I sometimes do feel like I should quit when
1. I don't improve. I just can't make certain shots I want to make.
2. I'm not with right people. Social factors
3. I indulge too much. Sometimes I spent too much time with tennis
(playing, watching, stringing, surfing) and it puts strains on other
parts of my life. :) )
Depending on the reason, you make certain decision about your tennis life....

I remember playing a semifinal match against some guy that would try his arse off to win points and games when I would just S&V/C&C him to hell and back. After the first set I said out loud, "This is so boring" and got ugly looks from everyone.
Of course, everyone who knew me laughed.
Everyone else started cheering for the other guy.
Final score Exile def. ThatGuy 6-2, 6-3.
After the match, I overheard a couple talking about me, something about being too arrogant or something like that.
But I knew I was going to win, the other guy knew, everyone knew, it was just a waste of time. Ever have a match like that?
Anyway, before I trail off again, you just need to maybe look at one part of your game you never thought about trying and play with it. Maybe a new grip to experiment with, become a spin doctor, or practice an ugly clay court swerveing dropper.
Or just watch the pros for a little while and ponder about your game in comparison.

Best thing to do. Don't play for a week. Instead, watch Prince Of Tennis. It's the best cure for your symptoms.

I took about a year off of tennis, after playing constantly for 4 years. The main reason that I stopped was because I felt kind of pressured to play college, and was kinda rebellious at the time i guess. Now I am playing every day, and I know that I will not be taking time off again, of course i wont play every day for the rest of my life, but as much as I can. I want to play as many tournaments as I can, and hope to be a pro one day, not a club pro, an actual professional tennis player, had to clarify that.
Here's a thought. Plan on not playing for a month. Instead, go to the gym and improve your strength and fitness. And do a lot of running or stationary bike and other stuff to improve your speed and footwork. As you make some progress you might look forward to applying yourself to tennis again.
