Gypsies tried to carjack me today...

I was driving in by 10pm of today in an one way street today. That is the most frequented zone of my city during friday and saturday nights.
In one side of the street we have an café with esplanade and in the other side of the street (left) we have a large walking esplande.
I was just stoping the car to pick a friend that was in the café and without reasons for that 5 or 6 gypsies jump into the front of my car and some tried to open the doors. Luckily my car locks the doors after 8mph of speed.
They then tried to break my windows and hitted my door with kicks and punches.
This only took 5-6 seconds.. The time i put the first gear and walk away..
They broke my door panels and scratched the doors..
I was lucky enough to have the doors locked.
Otherwise i wouldn't be writing the post right now, or if would it would be from an hospital wireless network.

He DID have a gun, and when he got it out, they ran off. (He works in law enforcement). Maybe stay away from that area at night?

That sucks. Maybe you could carry a taser and mace next time and keep the window open just enough to nail one of them...maybe a loud siren would work. Running someone over can result in too many legal issues (which is unfortunate, because people like that should be run over imo).

They are very few here in my zone maybe 200 or 300.
But all of them, and i repeat, all of them and i'm no overrating, are drug and guns dealers or steal cars and those legit activities..

Gypsies here are distinguished by both clothing and the general look of malnutrition. That, and by the fact that they are generally sitting on the ground with a small cup asking for change.

They do tend to have a reddish hue on their faces, in a leathery sort of way. I am generally a pretty sympathetic person but these people seem to me to consciously allow themselves to remain in the state they are in. This may not apply to all of them, but it is generally a culture that I do not respect, nor do most here in Rome.

It's easy for someone like Madonna to roll through on her concert tour and talk about mistreatment and prejudice of gypsies: she doesn't live with gypsies.

I studied in Rome one summer, and my group was robbed by gypsies on a bus. They stole cash, wallets, and passports from several people. I also saw them try to pull a trick where an old lady yells at you and waves a newspaper in your face while the kids pick your pockets. It's frightening. I try not to have prejudices, and I do see poverty as the root of most crime, but these people are trouble. They're active in the US as well, although it's more scams and cons and less pocket picking.

I'm study 30miles away from home and my tennis club is 10miles away from home. My parents gave me a car as a gift for my good behaviour and good grades at school. It's not an expensive car. You can find thousands of them in any european city as is from a big French Car Manufacture.

Well i don't think it was the final test. But i guess that if it was i would be approved. The car is being repaired now. At least insurance companies pay here in the ''wild texas''. At least i know we have many cowboys on the streets here :lol:
