When I try to do a twist server(I'm left handed) it spins to my right. What could be the problem?

hahah, getting jealous of echizen are we??? for us lefties, all side spin will naturally curve right. That's a good thing, most players are used to returning left curving spin.

I'm a left hander though, so it is suppose to spin to their forehand and that is what I want. I wan't my serve to be unpredictable.

80 - 90% of players are right handed which means 80 - 90% of slice/twist/kick serves in tennis will curve to the left. People are not used to lefty spin which curves right so this is a good thing and unpredictable! Okay, I helped you, now you've got to tell me how to use Tezuka zone now.

i find that even on flat serves hitting your favoured serve for the side it is confusing for those righties

You may be hitting the ball too high, not getting the toss behind your head enough, or not making the right motion with the racket head. The ball should be either right above your head or a little behind, but not enough to hurt your balance. The ball should be a little lower than max height you can reach so that you can come around the ball. You need to think about the racket head as starting at the 3 o'clock position on the ball and try to make it follow a circle around the ball finishing at the 12 or 11 o'clock position on the ball. You can kind of think of almost grabbing the ball with the racket head, trying to hold the ball on the strings, and then throwing it in the direction you want it to go. This is the best visualization I can come up with and it seems to give me the type of motion I need. The twist is a combo of top and side spin which is what makes it act the way it does. If you follow these general guidelines, you should get the overall effect you are looking for, but it will still need a little tweaking for your own use.
