Me too, except that I am not playing bass for money anymore (I am done with the night gigs and having to stay up until the 4:00 am picking up the equipments after the gig). But still and acoustic guitar player (nylon strings) and a songwriter for well over 20 years.

I dabble in the acoustic arena and have been doing so for about 20 years. One day I must get around to taking a lesson. I just wish there was more than one lefty acoustics I could take off the wall and play when I walk into a guitar shop.

I had a crew for that...it was great. I miss those days, but yeah, loading/unloading gear yourself is the worst. I did that from age 16-25 before touring.

If this question is for me, I'll just say that unfortunately I haven't toured with anyone. I'm simply an enthusiast who has played local jazz gigs on and off for years (with some rock thrown in for kicks!).

I've always admired the craftsmanship of a well made archtop.

I'm thinking about getting an electric guitar, probably around Christmas. This is my top choice right now.http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Limited-Edition-Les-Paul-Studio-Deluxe-Electric-Guitar?sku=581254 What do you guys think? And what color looks best? I've played the white and wine red version at guitar center, both look great to me.

I've gone through a number of guitars over the years, but now I have only two, mostly for sentimental reasons: a 1999 Taylor 810 and a 2002 PRS CE22. Unfortunately, I don't play as often as I used to (or would like).

It is 3/8 but it isn't for sale. First of all, it's quite beat up from years of use. Second, I'm keeping it for sentimental value. I still have the single stripe POG that my mother used during the 80's. As you can see I have a hard time letting go of some things!

The '62 is without a doubt my best guitar. I've owned upwards of 40 guitars, and the Tele is the one I will be buried with.

This is the color:

*Puts hand up!* Fellow guitarist right here!
I play a beat up old strat copy and a epi les paul with a whole load of fuzz and overdrive pedals through an epi valve junior with a 1x12 cab.
I dabble in acoustic mostly because of the noise i make with the electric.

I Swear i saw a fellow White Stripes fan in this thread. Awesome times.

I'm a Fender guy too. I have a Tele with strings thru body that is unreal. Perfect intonation and records like a dream. I bought a Schecter Diamond and put a Dimarzzio Evolution in there, and that thing sounds incredible for distorted tones. I layer the guitars a lot and the contrast is great. Usually Tele through a Fender deluxe and Schecter through a Marshall JCM. Both have Ts9s in front to drive the amps.

If you want a Les Paul, don't spring for an Epiphone unless you're a brand name kind of guy. RondoMusic makes Les Pauls that are identical to their Epiphone counterparts, just without the brand name.

I've got the same set up as you.

Though I have a cheaper Mexican Squire Strat. I don't know what yours is as I can't see the headstock.

Amp looks the same though.

I never played with different pedals much, I just went with a "Metal Zone".

Any recomendations for a different distortion pedal?

I stopped playing for a while, but I just helped a co-worker pick out a guitar for her boyfriend so now I have the urge to pick it up again.

God i want a tele with a maple neck real bad. Saw a G&L the other day, Fullerton Red, maple neck with their gun oil finish that makes it look a bit vintage, and the body is semi hollow with no f-holes... as Dick Enberg would say, "Delicious!" Playing a Seagull Grand Artist parlour acoustic and tried an Agile al-3000 a few years ago, gold top with p90's... damn, really impressive. The craftsmanship is awesome, really can't see paying Gibson $3500 for basically the exact same guitar other than the name. I mean it has triple binding all the way, hand filed frets, ebony fretboard, abalone inlays, and the pick ups are way better than expected. An easy upgrade if desired tho!

I play folk guitar and have for some 35 years now.
I love to sing and had friends who would get together and sing, talk, eat and play all night. But that was in my younger days.

Don't play much these days but I still have an axe on the wall.

I owned a wonderful deep voiced D35 for 30 years before selling it when I moved to Thailand.

This sounds about what I do with my guitars. I like getting on the back porch with some friends, a cooler of beer and just sing around a firepit until we run out of songs to sing. Good times.

As far as what guitars I own...
Fender DG22S-Nat acoustic with an LR Baggs pick-up
1980 Martin HD-35 acoustic
Baby Taylor acoustic
Guild 12 string acoustic
Takamine G-Series acoustic
Epiphone WildKat semi hollow electric
and a pawn shop POS special

I'm sorry I missed this thread until now. I'm a guitar player, and have played in a few small touring rock bands over the years.
After playing tennis a lot as a kid, I've recently picked it up again. My only hope is that I don't develop an addiction to racquets like I have for guitars (of which I have, ahem, 16...)
If anyone's curious, here's a link to my last project: http://myspace.com/thepawnerssociety
If I get a chance, I'll post a couple photos of my guitars like some of you all did. (I'm more of a Fender kinda guy...)
