Karlovic serves 78 aces and he still can't win the match.

usually when ace records are set like this the one who hits the most aces usually loses. E.G. any match karlovic plays, joachim johanssen against agassi. The only person who hasnt set a record of aces and lost was Fed this year at wimbledon.

Scores can be deceiving, one of the mathes Blake played at the US Open I believe, has a scoreline that implied a epic match. But in reality, it was just a shankfest between both players

The 2008 French Open final was better.

Guys who watched this said it was horribly boring. Over half the points were the serve going in and not coming back over the net.

oh ha ha ha ha ha that was a good one. stop trolling because you are sad over the fact that murray is a wash up before the age of 24.

On another note this isnt the first epic stepanek has played. 2007 Us Open vs. Djokovic anyone?

I was just going to post something to this effect, well said. Just because the score is close, doesn't mean its a good match in terms of quality. A 6-1 set can be exciting if there are a lot of dueces, high quality rallies, and tight points. A 7-6 can be full of errors and short points, double faults, and so on. Score isn't always an indicator of an amazing match.

This sounds like a very boring match. Even the Wimby 09 final was boring because it was too much domination on the serve. Alot of breaks makes the matches more interesting.

The Davis Cup has produce some great matches...for one your playing for country and not for yourself. The '82 Matts Willander vs. John McEnroe was an epic match. I was in high school back then and remember it well.

This is from Wilkepedia:

"An epic performance was McEnroe's 6-hour, 22-minute victory over Mats Wilander in the deciding rubber of the 32 quarterfinal win over Sweden in 1982, played in St. Louis, Missouri. McEnroe won the match, at the time the longest in Davis Cup history, 97, 62, 15-17, 36, 86."

Normally matches that have very little break of serves arent the best to watch
