Yes, it's true! Gamma supreme is way too tacky. I never thought that would be possible but it is. I generally don't sweat much and its colder now anyways. After a very hard hitting session could end, I had to stop because I had one blister below my index finger, one very painful one under my thumb, and one starting to form next to my thumb! I was very surprised because I hadn't been using my overgrips until just today.

I will definitely use the reverse side. Seems to feel a bit softer and slightly chalk-like. Does anyone else use the reverse side of overgrips?

of course, if you want to make the most of your overgrip the other side will give you another few hours of hitting.

I personally loooove the tackiness of the Wilson Pro, and Gamma Supreme, but thats the beauty of the supreme, the other side is completely different.

Really? Gamma Supremes are very tacky, but very soft and slimey. I'm surprised its too tacky for you. Your hands must not sweat at all, its under 60 degrees, or you dont have calluses or toughened skin on your hands. How about Wilson Pro Softs? Those are pretty soft. I find Gammas become slippery after a few hours, and pro softs slippery after an hour. If you find Gammas too tacky, then maybe the Wilson Pro Softs will be good for you.

One problem... I invested in a 30 dollar pack! My hands got used to the soft replacement grip because I stopped using overgrips for a while until I got my new replacement grip which is really thin so that I could reduce a grip size. So maybe it's just a transition problem. If it doesn't go away, I'll be sure to keep your recommendation in mind.

your hands will probably get used to it/callous up.

but in the mean while, try wrapping the grip a bit tighter when youre wrapping it around the handle. this will stretch out the plasticky coating a bit thus making the grip less tacky.

i've read on the back of a gamma supreme package that the grip itself is extra stiff/strong to withstand a tighter wrap without ripping or loosing to much of it's tacky feel, like the effect one would get if he wrapped supergrap too tightly (supergrap would then feel more like tournagrip in terms of tackiness)

I did by accident (Gamma Supreme). When my hands got sweaty there was a noticeable difference. The correct side reacts much better to moisture.

after a couple uses it will soften up quite a bit and lose a lot of its tackiness.

also, as paul says, stretching the grip tight will help reduce some of the tackiness...
