Colony Beach & Tennis resort to close.

One of these days I was planning to make it out there for a tennis/family vacation. Oh well too late now:mad:

Wow---glad I didn't book a trip there soon.
This place used to be rated the #1 tennis resort in the U.S. I checked it out a few years ago, and was pretty impressed.
You can always go to the nearby Longboat Key Resort, just south of the Colony, also a very nice place, with clay courts, of course....

We had a great vacation here years ago, it is such a great spot, but a lot of the units appeared to have seen better days. In addition, they had a bunch of hard courts that were really lumpy and uneven - almost unplayable. Sad. Such a nice locale. I hope they come back after making the proper improvements.

I stayed there as a kid with my family. I probably played tennis 4-6 hours and beached it the rest. I loved that place.
