I have been playing with Babolat Tonic 16 the last 6 months. And I want to try out of curiosity two soft poly strings. I have narrowed down my options to these 2 strings.
The racquets I am going to get them strung with are K Six One 95 18 x 20 and Pro Staff 6.0 original 95 16 x 18.

The Head sonic pro has the double price almost compared to msv according to TW europe pricelist.
I'd like to know which of the two is the softest. The flexibility rates and figures show the Head Sonic Pro as more comfortable.
IS it so? I don't want to buy both as I am thinking of experimenting maybe with 16 and 17g of the same string.
Having in mind the racquets I mentioned above and that playing style is mainly from baseline which of the two would oyu recommend?

Thank you.

MSV is saposed to offer alot of spin for your baseline game.

One of my friends uses SonicPro and likes it alot. His game leans more toward all around though.

I am thinking of full set up with poly so I am interested which is most arm friendly as well.
If I get it strung on the PS original 6.0 95 which 16 x 18 it will be more comfortable than the 18 x 20 of the K 6.1.?
Let's assume same tension...

Full set MSV at 1.18 gauge. don't string it to high and you should love it and your arm won't yell at you. I just made the switch and bought '660 feet of it.

The 1.18g is 17L, right. I was thinking of stringing @ 50lbs...
Maybe string both K Six One 95 18 x 20 and PS original 6.0 95...

Yeah it's 17. 50 seems a bit low to me considering I string at 56 on my youtek radical pro. but whatever you string at now should be good. your racquet will turn into a ripstick....

Tonic 16 is strung @ 55 lbs on the K 6.1. 95 18x20...
So with poly I have to go lower...

I'd stay the same. I did at least. I'd start with a full set in at 54 than get a feel for it from there. I had it in tonight right after I strung it at 56 and I was unstoppable. You really can swing thru the ball and keep it inches from the baseline

I usually target the baseline...
I am joking. I may go down 2 lbs because it is poly. On the other hand though I am going to thinner gauge...

Try 54 lbs. and tell me how it goes, end of discussion.

2 weeks! oh well. it's well worth the wait, especially if you hit with a lot of spin.

Sonic Pro loses tension much more than MSV

I am stirring myself towards msv focus 17.
I am thinking of adding a Dunlop 4D 300 Tour to the racquets I am going to test it. The other two as I said are K 6.1. 95 18x20 and PS original 6.0 95 16x18.

I am thinking of throwing another variable into the equation and this is Pro Supex Big Ace 1.22... against MSV focus hex 1.18

BA 1.22 is good stuff but spin is just average. Hex 1.10 didn't play as well as BAM for me (spin, feel, etc).

You mean that I have to go to even thinner gauge. The thinnest gauge I use was Babolat Tonic Feel (16) and I am a bit cautious going to a very thin gauge.

I meant you recommend me to use 1.10 Pro Supex Big Ace Micro to get more spin compared to 1.22...

The hex 1.18 is way better than the 1.10 durability wise. If you have a stringer go for it. the 1.18 produces about the same spin for me and it got way better reviwes than the 1.10 on string forum

Most possible is to go with the MSV hex 1.18 for K 95 18x20 and PS original 6.0 95 16x18... and then maybe try the supex. I can't find it in Europe, though so I may have to roder from US.

I was thinking of trying the MSV with Dunlop 4d 300 Tour but I may string the Dunlop with Rip Control 16 or Tonic 16. I am not sure poly would be ok for a frame like 4d 300 tour that everyone says it has not much power... But I have not purchased the dunlop yet so I can't know...

I play the K 6.1 18x20 and have settled on Big Ace Micro at about 53-54 lbs. That frame plays very well with this string and tension. I like it and am playing 4.5-5.0 level. BAM is pretty soft for a co poly although my lower tension may be helping that; I'm 51 years old and can't tolerate many polys like Lux but BAM is not giving me any elbow problems yet. I play on har-tru, if you play faster courts, you might want to start a little higher on the tension. BAM is the longest i've stayed with a string in a while but i'm gonna try Blue Gear now also, i think PS is quality stuff.

I am playing on hard courts and an artificial grass, it's like carpet, soft surface...
I am 29 but I play 13 months only...
What about maintenance of the the BAM micro? I am not stringing very often. The bad thing is I practice or play 5-6 times per week. Which means I should be stringing at least 6 times per year...
The last string on my K 6.1. is Babolat tonic 16 and there is for 3 months there... Even NG can go really stiff after so much time...

hi there!
I tried the MSV Focus HEX gauge 18 (1.10mm) at 48.5 lbs on my Ksix-one tour 90.
I literaly love it! The comfort and the spin that produces is far above my expectations! Now I know the reason why on stringforum was declared string of the year 2008.
