View Full Version : ways to stretch string before stringing

What are some ways that you guys stetch your strings before stringing, besides the way that Yulitle shows on one of his videos, as I dont have access to a large, round pillar (except I guess a tree would work)..but are there any other ways?
And how is the recoil memory for MSV Focus Hex and SPPP?

MSV Focus and SPPP are polys, I dont think they need pre-stretching. As far as I know only natural gut and mulitfilaments need pre-stretching

When I prestretch, which is rarely these days, I take one of my floating clamps (which I kept over the years), make a loop just big enough to go around a doorknob and clamp the loop with the clamp. I walk to the end of my hallway with the other end of the string, making sure I have no kinks in it, attach my clamp, and start leaning back. I pull until I feel the string relax, which takes anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute.
