I enjoyed reading this - I think Tignor really nailed it here.

Nice reading, Nicolai did a great job in Shangai.

Nice article, I fully agree. Davy has the tools to win a slam, he just needs the mind, and he'll probably need to beat Federer at some point, which I think he can (I would love to see it, I think he deserves it after losing 12 times, in some he almost won). Davy 2010 AO champion!

Terrific article! Spot on...

I thoroughly enjoy watching Davydenko (and for that matter, Nalbandian) play, esply when he is dialled-in.

DD was brilliant in Shanghai, against both Djoko and Rafa. Many of the jaw-dropping groundies in each of these matches were spectacular. I'm also impressed with the Shanghai crowd, they sure do know their tennis and are not partisan fans; like how it is in many other tournies (DD got his fair share of applause for his brilliant play).

It is sad that DD is not as charismatic as others, but for the true aficionado of the sport, that really shouldn't matter.

Good luck in your quest for a GS, DD...

Davydenko is very good against some and worse against some. This is due to his one-dimensional game.

His worse
0-12 vs Federer
1-5 vs Roddick
0-7 vs Blake ????

His good
4-5 against Murray
3-4 against Nadal
6-0 against Gonzalez ??

Nice read. Thanks for sharing. Davydenko needs to better finish points at the net.

with no fed, he may win london too.

This Yahoo Sports article speculates that Roger will take it easy and cool his heels right up to AO2010 - http://sports.yahoo.com/ten/blog/busted_racquet/post/Power-rankings-Federer-resting-remains-No-1;_ylt=AoQpvglQW8RJ.uC.oBLqv144v7YF?urn=ten,197471

However, Roger's Facebook post confirms that he does intend to play in Basel in a few week's time. I think Roger would be playing the YEC in London.

Davydenko lost to Safin at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow, though... fatigue sets in?

Regarding his endorsement drought, Nikolay did pitch in a plug for Rolex and Heineken at Shanghai in a tongue-in-cheek manner :). Anybody catch that?
