I use a full bed of Big Ace 1.25 (strung at 54) on Head Prestige Mid+. My strokes are fairly flat. A friend told me that Blue Gear would give my shots more spin (not that I want to hit a spinny ball or I think BG will keep my balls out of the net), but it would help me generate more spin/control.

I like BA's softness. I've heard BG is not as soft. Don't want to mess with my arm.

Opinions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, Blue Gear is a spin string so you will probably got more spin than Big Ace.

Also, if you are afraid of arm issues, you could hybrid BG in either mains or crosses with a soft multi/synthetic string.

Thanks. I'm a 4.5/5.0...I do realize that creating spin is more about technique than equipment, but specifically what is meant by BG=a "spin string." E.g., BG takes the same technique (assuming it's sound) and grabs the ball more...uh, thereby creating more net clearance, but landing shorter in the court?

How can flat ball have spin? Is like mans cologne ad saying "sensistive yet beastly". Opposites. Confusing desire.

High level flat, penetrating balls have plenty of spin. Watch Del Potro live. He sledgehammers with an easternish grip and it has major spin.
