View Full Version : Has Venus already won her final slam?

I am sort of worried about Venus. She already seems past her prime and the competition is going to be alot tougher the next few years with Henin, Serena, Clijsters, and Sharapova all probably strong over that time. That is not to mention the others like the Russian headcases who still might come through at some point, and the up and comers. The only place Venus is a contender for now is Wimbledon and to a lesser degree the U.S Open. However as she ages and declines further, plus the tougher field the next few years, that might not even last long. Will Venus ever win another slam? I am going to have to guess no.

I can possibly see her sneaking in another Wimbledon, but I wouldn't count on it.

Venus has been past her actual prime for at least 4 years now. The only place she seems to really produce anything anymore that is reminiscent of it is at Wimbledon, but based on lasts years performance in the final I don't think she is winning another unless next year Serena decides to take it easy on her if they meet in the final again (which is not a complete certainty) and lets her have it. She is almost 30 years old and is less likely to win anything as her body is now worn down. Wimbledon is her only shot at another major, and if she doesn't win it next year I doubt she ever will again.

I know she absolutely can win again, and i think she will. I am an obvious fan, she still is my favorite female player.

I feel it all depends on injuries, shes had a bum knee for the majority of this year, she would have won Wimbledon this year is she were healthy.

Thank you, but I already knew that. Let me guess, you think Venus is going to win the career slam still, and also go on to tie or break Navratilova's Wimbledon singles record to boot.

Sorry. Kinda screwed up the poll because I voted no when I meant to vote yes. Anyway, her best chance is at Wimby and I can't see that happening. She'd have to work hard to get to another final.

But it's not like she has any real competition on clay, all she has to worry about is Serena, especially at the French. Duh

You can't exactly sneak in a grand slam title.

She could win 1 more Wimbledon (at most) but I think she probably wont.
