Looking to try the MSV Focus Hex next on my APDC. Deciding between the 18 (1.18) and 18L (1.10). Any thoughts? Looking for max spin. I'm not a string breaker.

didn't find much difference in terms of spin production or playability. a full 18L at the same tension does seem a tiny bit softer than the 18, but it's really slight as msv is pretty soft for a poly.

i think for an apdc i'd go with the 18 for the slight improvement in durability.

I have my APD hybrided with MSV hex 1.80 and it really gives a ton of spin. My usual hitting partner commented on how much spin I was getting even though my strokes are more geared toward flat shots.

I really contemplated on deciding between 1.80 and 1.10 but I think i made the right choice. I think 18L would have sliced through my synthetic gut crosses very fast. I've played with my string set up for 4 times so far and the synthetic gut crosses are showing bits of splitting.

Go with the 18L. Been using it for 2 months now-best string I've ever played. Great spin, exceptional feel, controllable power and unbelievable comfort!

You could also try their Hepta Twist in 1.15...right in the middle, and a smidge more spin (in my non-scientific opinion)

^^^^ I really didn't notice any difference between MSV Hex 1.10 and MSV Heptatwist 1.15, but that is just me. However, the string feels just like MSV Hex, so if you like one - you will most likely like the other.

I have played with both a good bit the last few months and I think both the 1.10 and 1.18 play great and have similar durability. However, I would suggest giving the 1.10 a shot since you aren't a string breaker. Most people (including me) seem to prefer the thinner size.

I believe with a poly you should use as thin a string as possible while not completely throwing durability out the window. And I don't notice much difference in the durability of the 1.10 verses the 1.18.
