I got 2 PS 6.0 original 95 strung at the same tension (53lbs) one with Rip Control 16 (black) and the other with Tonic 16.

Played first time today with the Tonic 16 on the PS 6.0 95...
Theory says that strung at the same tension Tonic should give more feel and more power and more comfort.

In practice I was a bit shocked to realize that the Rip Control feels noticeably more comfortable and a bit more powerful and with about the same feel... maybe a bit less but not considerable difference.

So should I start thinking that the B class natural gut from Babolat is not that good after all or start doubting my stringers abilities?
According to the feel and power I'd say the Tonic must be strung about 4 lbs tighter... according to my stringer both racquets are @ 53 lbs...

Go with higher tension on Tonic. For some reason, gut string show their best playability at higher tension. I'd say 53 lb might be too low. Try 58 lb.

I had it 55.5 on the K Six One 95 18x20...
I like to get the pop from low tensions.
I thought lower would give more power and comfort...

It does more or less, but with gut, the elasticity is not so simple. It tends to be less elastic at lower tensions, and gets more elastic at higher tensions. I've heard that under 60lbs, gut acts almost as stiff as some synthetics, but once you go above that, because it is a natural substance and unique, it is more elastic at tensions above 60, and especially at the tensions that occur during ball impact.

Well I am thinking of ordering a few sets of Pacific classic 16 or 17 and try @60lbs. 60lbs is 27 which I think is high but I may give it a try. I think maybe the 16x18 is not the best to take the full potential of ng although I think maybe it has to do more with technique and way of playing and less with string pattern and the kind of the racquet...

I have my natty gut strung at minimum 27-28 kg always.

Lower than that and it feels mushy to me and not crisp enough.

My Copolys are never strung higher than 25 kg.
