Hope this hasn't been mentioned before. The net at the Swiss indoors has a metal bar running along the bottom. Is it a portable one and are these commonly used at ATP tourneys?

Take a look at this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aS-m7_b_5Zw

Thanks.

I believe that metal bar is kind for positioning of the net purposes, and isn't there when play is going.

It's true purpose at the Roger Federer Indoor Tennis World History Tournament, is to serve as a reminder for Herr Federer that should one of his shanks hit the net, he will be greeted with an unpleasant noise.

That's why these days he prefers to hit the ball wide, long, or sometimes even straight up into the air.

Valencia also uses one like that, doesn't? At least it seems, on the tv.
