When looking at the pros forehand loops or backswings, I notice that many of their racket faces are facing down before they strike the ball (Roddick, Nadal, etc.). When looking at my swing, mine will be sideways before striking the ball. I use an over the shoulder finish, so I am curious if that is a windshield wiper thing or something that I should working into my forehand?

They use heavy topspin... You don't.

You're using a classic style swing, don't worry too much about it as long as you can consistently hit the shots you want to hit.
