Going mid Dec. Should I take my racquet? I saw some courts using g o o g le earth but haven't found much in the way of clinics or fees.
Any other thoughts on what a 40 year old couple can do for fun would be great (besides the obvious).
Was hoping to do some fishing too, but again the information seems limited on that too.

A friend of mine goes every January to a timeshare there....tennis available but not terribly organized there. Might still be a golf course (not a very good one) at the old Mullet Bay property but it might have disappeared in one of the big hurricanes. Beyond that it's the usual beaches, hang gliding, casinos, and a drive to the French side for dinner overlooking the bay.

Yeah, not very organized tennis on St. Maarten. If that matters to you, you're better off on a bigger island like Barbados or Puerto Rico.

Wife and I visited there last June and LOVED it. I'd forget about tennis and go shopping (great prices on jewelery...unfortunately) and to the beach. Are you staying on the French or Dutch side?
As an aside, I had the BEST Indian food there. I still think about that meal :)

Thanks for all the responses. I've decided to leave my gear at home and this gives me a good excuse to rest my elbow for a week.
I'll use my clinic and private lesson budget at the casino!
