View Full Version : What do you do with your Fry Daddy grease. . .

. . .when it's time to switch it out for some new grease?

I usually pour mine on a kitten, but since it's the holidays and all I'm looking for a better way to dispose of it. There's no recycling of this sort in my area.

Any ideas?

When I was a kid, my Boy Scout troop would catch fish and fry them up. Afterwards, we'd pour the grease on an old stump and set it on fire. The stump would burn all night!

That was pretty good.

I pour mine in the trash in some form or another. Last time, I poured it into a leaf bag.

Do you all filter it as well?
Well I'm lucky that we have a place to dispose of the unusable oil.
After it cools off put it in a old container and then throw it out in the garbage.

I just dump it out back.

I guess I'll put it in the next milk jug I empty and put it in the trash. I miss living in the country where you could just pour it out back.

Mom used to pour it on weeds. Same with used motor oil.

I filter it while its still warm, let it cool, then use it as pomade for my hair to achieve the wet look without it getting all sticky.

keep a little to add to your new oil. you always want to mix a little broken down oil in with your new oil. this allows your food to brown while frying.

for storing your old oil, get a big glass jar and fill it. then when it is full whip it at someone you hate.
