i've been to montreal a bunch of times.... played at jarry park, not sure if on subway or not (probably is).... pretty sure you'll want to stay downtown (even though jarry park is aways from downtown) and there are tons and tons of hotels.

montreal is a very nice city (small mountain right in centre and great running paths) has sensational bar/nightlife scene.

i know visiting athletes love the montreal scene (can't elaborate any further here LOL except to say las vegas is renowned for same thing.).

I prefer to reply here.

I don't know too much about hotels, as I am not living in one:-) Check

As for tennis, you may want to play at Jarry parc (Uniprix Stadium, which is the current, less known name), where the Masters is taking place, but presently they are in rebuilding and perhaps right until the Masters' they only offer 3(three) outdoor courts. That's too bad.

However, they have 12 indoor courts.

Sorry, but you wouldn't be able to play at Jarry one week before and another after the Masters.

I think that the rates for non-residents for the outdoor courts at Jarry are Can$8/hr/court, while for the indoor courts are Can$20/hr/court (Can$10/hr/court after June 1). Call the reservation office at (514) 273-1234 (7am-11pm).

Jarry Park is located at 285 Faillon Street West, close to the subway/metro station De Castelnau on the "blue" line.

There are also 8 municipal parks, if you go to Jarry Park at the reception they will give you a flier with the addresses and phone numbers. On those parks, you will be paying Can$8/hr/court. They are of varying quality, only HC.

Here's the information on them:

You have to call 24hrs in advance to make reservations or just show up, but it's riskier after 5pm.
Click on the name of the park here and you will find maps.

Yes, I am every year there.

First, bring an umbrella: helps with the sun and helps with the rain:-), a large bottle of water.

Attractions: yes, the radar gun's there, not sure how accurate though. Lots of tennis boutiques. Lots of restaurants. Interviews in the Plaza and autograph signing (two years ago it was Roger). Large screen with current action. Tennis courts for minitennis, esp for kids.

I don't care too much about that: I am either at the matches or at the training sessions seeing the pros and their coaches from close up.

As a special attraction, we hope to feature John Yandell of

fame, filming in Montreal for his site:-)

Montreal has the most strip clubs per square KM in NA, also, w####s, if you're into that kinda stuff.

I'll be working at the TMS this year, so drop in and say hi.

that's the lowest, except for 7-8am during the week when some places have half price. don't ask for too much:-)
