The ALEA makes only clothes. Shoes are Nike. Think of Radek's kit.

Isn't it still his previous Fischer racquet, now provided with a Pacific paintjob? IIRC, Pacific bought Fischer last year.
I'm sure some racquet experts will chime in with the model he uses. I just remember from a recent interview with Lukas that he still uses the same model as he did 14 years ago.

Pacific bought Fischer and is now producing their racquets. Not sure when they will become available to the general public. I assume this is a pj of his previous frame. I wouldn't expect many alterations by Pacific early on, as the entire Fischer racquet design team and technology was part of the acquisition.

i actually like the feel of nike wristbands better than adidas or any other manufacturer, they're soft and absorbent and perfect for wiping the forehead between points (as a nervous habit, or if needed) :)

The Pacific websites says their racquets are coming out in March.

I visited the pacific website, and couldn't believe my eyes at what their new technology was...

Its called "Basalt", which is a volcanic rock?

Ya, but that is what wilson is doing.

pardon my ignorance, but since when has Pacific made racquets? I thought they only made strings and bags. This is my first time seeing a pacific frame.

OliverSimon

Oh...Pacific has some explaining to do.

vsbabolat
01-10-2010, 05:21 PM
^^^^^
No. It is Wilson tha has some explaing to do.
Pacific bought the Fischer Tennis division and the technology that went into Fischer Racquets.
http://www.racquetsportsindustry.com/news/2009/07/pacific_acquires_fischer_tenni.html

When the racquets were called Fischer they were using Basalt fibers for the Fischer Line of Black Granite racquets.

BLACK GRANITE is a volcanic fibre that is used for the first time for a tennis racquet. Fischer has had it in their racquets for the last year and half.
http://tenniswarehouse-europe.com/descpageRCFH-FBGC95L.html

So it is Wilson that is copying Pacific/Fischer.

Don't know if they will still manufacture to the same tolerances that Fischer did. I bought 4 more M Pro 1 98 sl just incase. I am stocked up for awhile now. Love my Black Granite No 1 98 too.

He is talking about the Black Granite in Fischer racquets, when they were still available.

"They all sure look like Fischers to me..."

Yea, so!? As I read all their press releases, etc they (pacific) are not trying to hid the fact that they acquired Fischer and the technologies, etc belonging to Fischer and that they want to continue the long-standing tradition of Fischer and how they made GREAT 'sticks', but with now with their own new influences. I'm sure the GER engineer's at Pacific will add some updated 'tweaks' as they go forward - even if these new (yet to actually been played by us) are in the same Fischer moulds, no one knows yet if there were changes in construction's - seems so as the new Basaltx hints at that,,,,I can't wait to play-test them!

Thanks for the updates insiderman and vsbabolat. I'm also waiting on these to come out.

I read a rumor in one of the Pacific threads that said Pacific may give customers the option to choose the kind of pallet grip shape they want. Anyone know anything about this?

May I make a serious request from the Folks at Pacific.

1. Please lets have a new Pacific version of the Vacuum Pro 90. Only with a better bumper guard that actually protects the racquet. Something like was on the Voelkl Tour 10 Mid.

2. Can please have some Pacific Amber coloured Gut again.
