Hi all,

Just wondering, how do you tie a No. 64 rubber band like a Gamma Shockbuster? Would you just stretch it across the mains and tie a knot on the back?

Any help?

I tried just tying it across four and doing a knot on the back, but it kept unraveling. So now, I've done it a little differently- pulled the knot completely through the weaving, but it's still a bit unstable.

Not sure if I understand you correctly, but can't you just weave it through the mains, and tie a knot around the last main on each side?
Or if that's what you're doing, and it keeps untangling, tie a double knot.

I do exactly what you've described - a #64 across four mains. Weave it between the strings and tie off like this:

No need to make it complicated or have it tied like how Agassi does it.

Just tie it over the strings, weave it through a number of them, etc. and secure it with a knot.

Be creative if you want.

I'm sure you know dampeners only dampen the sound and not the vibration.

I do it that way as well especially if the band is tight but didn't have a picture to post for the OP.

Regarding vibe dampeners, a 2008 study by Head was published in "The Engineering of Sport, Vol 2" and indicates that vibration dampeners have more than just a noise suppression effect. See post #8 here:
