View Full Version : MSV HEX Focus Hybrids?
I'm going to try this string in a few days in a Hybrid with Focus in the mains. What success have people had hybriding this and what crosses (I will use a synthetic/multi) and tensions have been used? Thx in advance.

I'm using MSV @ 58 in the mains and Gosen OG Sheep @ 56 in the crosses.
For me this gives a more comfy feel than full MSV but still seems to retain the bite of a full MSV.
Going to try lowering both tensions a bit next time.

MSv is 1.23 and the Gosen is 15L (1.35)

How long are you getting on the hybrids before the Poly goes dead?

I usually play about 6hrs a week so I think I get about 6 weeks before it starts to feel a bit flat and I re-string.
In my other racket I have full MSV @ 53 which I keep for harder, faster games. Not had this in for long or played much recently due to the weather but reckon it lasts a good 30hrs.
Both are Wilson K90's.

I used MSV Hex 18L at 50 with natural gut at 52 before and it feels amazing, a bit too powerful though.

I use MSV Focus Hex 1.18 mm on the mains at 52 lbs and Tecnifibre Multifeel 17 on the crosses at 54 lbs on my Dunlop AG 4D 300 Tour. A little too much power, but killer spin. Will go 54/56 next time. Multifeel really softens up the MSV (which is already a soft poly). No shoulder problems at all.

msv hex with cyber flash cross, good with stiff racquets, or crossed with ace 18g.
