I haven't bought much babolat string in the last 2 years, but it seems like their prices for the same string are up a solid 20-25%.

VS gut used to be $34.95. It's now $43 bucks! ouch.

Even their cheapest poly is now $8 bucks a set. Used to be $4.

Remember, Babolat is a French company.

Not only that but inflation is taking effect. Wilson took effect a little while before Babolat did.

This occured a good half a year ago if I recall correctly.

riddle me this, look up the price of your favorite reel of babolat string at TW USA, then look up the same reel at TW Europe in euros...convert to Dollars, and you will see it being significantly cheaper

TW Europe Prices
Babolat Pro Hurricane 1.20 200m String Reel 78,90 € = $111.02

This was true on Dec 18th 2009, not anymore since TW Europe jacked up the prices on the Addiction Reels in Europe to 119,99 €!!! (from 100,83€ in December)
Prices are from Dec 18th 2009...

Europe:
Babolat Addiction pack: 0,833 € / Meter
Babolat Addiction reel: 0,504 € / Meter

USA:
pack: $9.95 for 40'
reel: $160.95 for 660'
price per foot for pack: $0.249
price per foot for reel: $0.244

Addiction pack on TW Europe is: 10,05 € or $14.39
Addiction reel on TW Europe is: 100,83 € or $144.35

compare this to TW USA for the same lengths..
pack: $9.95
reel: $160.95
Why is Babolat charging so much more for reels in the USA?
Or why isn't there a bulk discount for buying a reel in the USA?

TW says it's Babolat's pricing policy

This is the kind of crap that keeps me from wanting to buy anything but the cheapest of reels, like Gosen and Pro Supex... The big brands spend so much on advertising and sponsorship, then go and charge more for similar products, but don't give us the chance to save by buying in bulk.

Luxilon is the worst of all of them...

Gozen went up in price too. OG Micro used to be $29, now it's $36.

Luxilon M2 dropped a couple of bucks in price.

Wilson K Gut dropped by 6 bucks.

I too have noticed the increase in price on the Babolat strings. Addiction used to be $9.95 now $10.95, PHT used to be $12.95 and now $14.95. I know this is only a couple of bucks but it WILL keep my from buying either. At $10 a set Addiction is a great option for a cross string to me but just that $1 increase will cause me to use different strings. Not a good move from either TW or Babolat IMO as they will lose business for sure.

Prices of Babolat bags have gone up too. $49.95 for the 6 pack is now 54.95 if I recall correctly.

If you like Addiction, check out Tecnifibre Multifeel. Much better feeling and a dollar cheaper.

IMHO, PHT players should just drop the string and go with MSV Focus Hex or Black Code. $14.95 for PHT is not worth it.. there are better things out there for your dollar.

Don't buy any and maybe their prices and their egos will fall back to earth.

Maybe there's some truth to the rumor that Babolat feeds their cows IAMS cow food mixed with Danactive or Activia Yogurt, which has driven the cost up a lot.

I"d second this as well.
