Can somebody please tell me what both the university and tennis program is like and these universities. I have watched just about ever youtube video I could find of them including numerous campus tours however I was unable to find anything on there tennis. What is the standard of tennis like? What are people's personal opinions on these teams and universities?

I am unable to visit them due to the fact that I am currently overseas however from my own research they seem to be good fits for my personal and academic goals.

Any advice/opinions would be greatly appreciated

I think they are all solid academic schools. Bucknell noted for engineering. Marquette, great law, and dental program. Marist a good academic undergrad. As for tennis, Marquette is in an extremely weak conference. As a rule all of the programs in that conference, (in men's) are poor. The play some Horizon league programs, U W Green Bay, Valporaiso, they are even weaker. The ones in those programs wouldn't be on a Big 10 roster, no where! Other considerations, Milwaukee? Humm, that about says it all. The neighborhood where Marquette sits is in about the worst part of an already crime infested run down city. I believe that they use public courts for outdoor tennis, as they don't have any courts. All things considered, I'd recommend Bucknell.

I played against Marquette years ago. They play indoors (I don't think they have outdoor facilities). Its on campus, although it is hard to tell what is on vs off-campus there, and yes, the neighborhood was a bit scary. If you play well on fast surfaces it could give you a home court advantage, but if you are clay courter I'd see that as a red flag. They appear to play a pretty weak non-conf schedule with the occasional Big 10 school thrown in here or there. Big East can have 1-2 teams ranked in the top 25 but overall is more like a mid-major conference.

Academically, out of the three I'd take Bucknell. Bucknell is in a small town in the middle of Pennsylvania. I don't know much about their tennis team or conference, but I don't think either is very strong. Schools in the Patriot League conference priorotize academics over athletics, and lacrosse is probably the top sport.

My son attends Bucknell and loves it there but doesn't play on the team. The tennis team is so-so. If you are 250 ranking, you would play 1-2. 85% of Marist tennis players are foreign. they will their division every year. Fairfield is in their conference.

My friend plays for Bucknell he is a doubles specialist, he is was like top 20 in the easter division USTA, still didn't manage to play singles. Academically don't bother applying unless you have above a 3.5 or over 1350 (math+critical reading) on the SATS

A guy I know played tennis for Bucknell in the late 1960s. As a community service, the team used to play prisoners from nearby Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary once a year. My friend drew Jimmy Hoffa as his opponent. I asked him what it was like to play Hoffa....."he cheated."

bucknell is in the patriot league, which is among one of the worst conferences in tennis. marquette's in the big east which has some solid tennis, including notre dame, south florida, and louisville, all top 30-40 teams. marist is also in a weakish conference with the exception of fairfield, however they are a very good team
