if you hit it with a ball almost any dampener will fly off...

someone suggested using fishing line to tie it to the bottom cross. i would think that should keep it from flying off.

Yeap,

If you hit with the dampener will fly around,

I used almost year later moved to BB RSV, never fly and do its job (what at this point is very controversial around).

Yeah happened to me friday night, but I put the dampener a little too high on the racket. I think that legally for tournaments and what not you can only place the dampener below the bottom cross string.

I heard you can only place outside cross string, that could be bellow or not ...

I use the Babolat Custom Damps with the extra rubber insert. Use this because it makes the dampener almost impossible to remove from the stringbed during a rally.

I have only once in 2 years had my Babolat Custom Damp fly off because I use this extra insert and hit the ball in the sweet spot quite often ;)

Ya the babolat custom dampcomes out so easily I lost both my dampener in a 2 and a half hourmatch alone and was left with no dampener. Sadly I lost the match

Had a Wilson Green W dampener from when I was about 10... broke it in my last tournament of the year.

If you use it without the insert (similar to the sampras "o" ) use a small piece of dental floss to tie it to a string so it can fly away

Quick question, where is the correct place to put the dampener, on the middle of the bottom two midle strings, or right below/on the bottom cross

I was surprised yesterday when my dampener fell off...

I have been using the wilson lucky dice dampener almost exclusively for about 6 months and yesterday was the first time one came off on me..

but when you say below, do you mean below the cross but still covering it, or just below it completely?

i find the TW vibes to be good, and they don't fly off easily.

placement is below the bottom cross, but some have a groove which can be slipped up over the bottom cross just a tad.

#64 rubber bands work great also. don't come off (usually).

Yep, the alien ones fly off. Some of their other ones don't though. The ones that come in a mixed selection jar have been good. The Gamma redeye is great and so is the Yonex one I am using now.

I have a prince snake dampener-it's a pain in the buttowski to get on and off and thus doesnt ever come off. The gamma shockbuster clips come off a lot and that really makes me mad so I like the prince snake thing

Wilson Vibra fun dampeners are the best, they dont fall off either!
