Losing after 4MPs, could it be the same old choking?

Mind you, Kuznetsova is hell-bent to beat both Belgians, after the drug scandal involving her in Belgium (OK, it was an exhibition, but by the way, the 2nd sample was positive too ... ), thus Justine, you better watch tomorrow in the final!:-)

I had read that Kuzzy won on her 5th matchpoint after Kim had saved the first 4 MPs. I dont think Kim had any MPs of her own in the match.

Kuzzy has teh potential to be a clay monster. She has all the assets and I think she needs to be considered one of the favorites for RG. Justine will have her hands full, though I hope she pulls throguh

I actually thought clay was Kuznetsova's worst surface, but she could prove me wrong. She did have a match point on eventual champion Myskina at last years French, but Myskina basically won by default last year, her opponents played at such an abysmal
level the final three rounds.

Correct, mea culpa: Kim held off 4mp.
Thanks for the obs.

I see her western forehand grip & strong legs as big assets for clay. She also trained at ASV's academy in Barcelona growing up so I'm sure she knows her way around a clay court. She reminds me of ASV with power and a much better serve. Actually she's also like Kim but with a bigger forehand & more streaky.

I thought she had a semi-western grip.

she definitely puts more topspin on it than most wta players

Yeah, Kuznetsova's forehand really impressed me when I watched her against Dementieva, it looked super-heavy.

I also thought Kuznetsova hits SW.

No excuses but Kim was injured. She injured her shoulder on Wednesday I think, that's why she scrapped through with Bovina. She had her shoulder strapped and you could see she was in a bit of pain. But at least she didn't do a Serena i.e. when she could see she was losing, she retired. Kim just carried on!

Anyway, I'm a Justine Fanatic, so come on Justine. You've beaten Svet before - you can do it again!

Svetlana won Fair & Square but as previously stated Kim was injured.- See her shoulder- It's to her credit she gutted it out and completed the match.

It looks like Kim's coming on to Svet in that pic... I shouldn't be turned on...:)

J. Henin-Hardenne 3 6 7
S. Kuznetsova 6 2 5

great comeback for JHH from 2-4 in the 3rd and a great result for her, establishes her as the main favorite at FO.
