View Full Version : Real specs of Tecnifibre T-325: clarify

I did some research this morning, and the balance point of this racket is actually 12.4 inches, which I believe is 6-8 pts headlight (correct me if I'm mistaken), which is significantly more head heavy than the 11.5pts listed on TW.
I also saw a stiffness index of 65 on a couple of sites, which is also stiffer than the specs on TW.

Given the length as 27.4 inches, the middle of the racquet would be at 13.7. So if the balance is at 12.4 as you state, that is 1.3 inches headlight, which is roughly 10.4 points headlight. Remember that all frames have some tolerances that they are allowed to be produced at, usually something like + or - 5-7 grams in weight, a few points in balance. Things like that. I believe TW takes measurements on maybe 5 frames and then averages the values to give what is posted on their website. Some of them may have been only 9 points headlight, but other frames could have been 13. Just because you see the specs on paper doesn't mean those are the exact specs you are going to get because of manufacturing tolerances.

I demo'd the 325....it was about 10 pts. headlight from what I recall....weighed just about 12 oz. The flex felt like 59-60 or so. Good solid and flexible racquet. Only things I didn't like were :
1. Rectangular "Head" shaped grip. Feels awkward on my 1-handed bh.
2. 18x20 pattern. Not as much spin potential as I'd like.
Otherwise a fine racquet...great cosmetics too.
