Hello to all nice guys here.
I had some problems that troubles a lot when playing matches.
1) I can't toss the ball as normal when playing under the sun.
Normally I place the ball around 12 to 1 o'clock for all the types of serve.
But under the sun, I can't do that , i try to toss a bit backward to avoid the sunlight , it really hurt my fluidity of the serve motion.
what can i do ???
2) I sweat a lot during matches, it hurts my concentration a lot and needs to wipe up the sweat from face and spectacles frequently. Any good ideas to help me???
Best thanks

1) Oakley

2) Use head bands or wrist bands to wipe sweat

serving under the sun is no problem for me... I hate serving under the wind

I live in vegas and I have found out there is not "sure way" of keeping the sun out of your face. Changing the toss is not recommended. Just your position on the court. Like the above poster said, sunglasses are almost a must. Visors may/may not work. Though I suggest wearing a visor during practice so you can get used to it. As far as the sweat, wristbands will take care of that problem.

Toss farther back or more to left and use more topspin then when sun is in your eyes with your normal toss. Use headbands and wristbands to control sweat.

also a major tip here, apart from throwing the toss and positioning your body where the sun least affects you, you can try tossing the ball in front of you and lower than usual. Lower tosses may be more controllable and higher percentage of going in.

Where did you get that?

I dont doubt that works for you, but it seems to me like lower tosses have a higher chance of generating a weak serve and hitting the net. Nothing destroys confidence like that. You should be hitting your serves at full extention.

there are times when i pull out a lower toss to the front, it works as I can generate more racquet speed as I move into the ball, i also tend to hit a little flatter then giving me personally more accuracy, but its not my first serve of choice.

1)Practice tossing and serving with your eyes closed. Its rough to begin with, try it, it it doesn't work for you, try some other the other people suggestions.

2) Make sure your wearing lightweight shirts, a mesh hat, visor, or no hat. Make sure you drink plenty of water, sweating dehydrates you (duh).

A low ball toss and hitting at full extension are not mutually exclusive.
Higher tosses spend less time through the optimum hitting zone as they are traveling faster. High tosses put a premium on having extremely fine co-ordination and timing, most people shouldn't try to toss nearly as high as the pros. I've noticed that when I get somebody to lower their high ball toss, clean contact with the ball in the sweet spot increases greatly.
If you want to learn more about the arguments for a low ball toss, check out Vic Braden's writings on the subject.

Thank you very much for yr valuable comments.
But for me , I also have a quite low toss for me. As yr oponion said, it is easier for have a better timing to hit the serve for me, but I found not every people like it.
But serving under the sun,
I still cannot see the ball to hit the serve, for me, I need to be concentrated to see the ball to hit the serve, otherwise the serving placement is greatly affected.
I can't serve to the approximate direction (like down the t, or wide serve, or serve to body).
Any good idea to serve under the sun, without affecting too much on the toss??? if I change the placement of toss, it greatly affect the quality and control of my serve!!
Pls help.!

Any body here, could share yr views on serving under sun??
When I try to hit the ball, I turns blindness and could not see the ball clearly to give a clear impact on the ball to serve!!!
But the pro players in tour could still play so many matches under the sun!!!!
What is the secret to serve in the sun???
fish, thanks
