Most difficult/tricky shots?

Technically, I would say:

1. Backhand overhead
2. High backhand volley (and I mean above your head, not shoulder level)
3. Shoe-string volley on forehand side
4. Topspin serve.

#1-3 are notoriously easy to botch, and even very good players miss them about 30% of the time.

The backhand overhead is best avoided period unless you have the ability of an ATP player. The very low forehand volley is more difficult than the backhand side because the racket face is more naturally open on the backhand side than the forehand.

Also, a topspin serve Edberg style with alot of action is difficult for many people just because of the body contortions required. For some people it's natural, while it's just about impossible for others.

My most missed shot is #3.

Dropshots can be pretty tricky as you need just enough pace to get them over the net but not too much so that your opponent can't get to them.

Lobs can be tough to execute on a fast surface like grass or worn out indoor surface where the ball stays low.

Hard flat serves out wide can be difficult to perform as well.

Redirecting any hard hit deep crosscourt shot up the line can be very low percentage from either side.

Half volleys can be tricky too.

Any low ball near the net provides an interesting challenge in getting the ball over the net without hitting it too hard so that it sails long or too short so that your opponent has an easy pass or lob now that you are at net.

Hitting balls on the run while stretched out can be very tough.

For some people, it's the tweener. Not for me, but for some. For me, the most difficult is playing a down the line shot. If I'm set up, I can do it, but I dislike it.

1. Backhand overhead That's mine. I either end up framing it or I hit it so weak that it's completely useless.

For me it's #2. For some reason my backhand overhead is better than the high backhand volley.

Majority of the players have problems with the following shots:

-- Serve up the T (ad court).

-- Backhand return down the line off first serve;

-- Backhand down the line off insideout forehand;

-- Backhand down the line under pressure.
