Anyone watching the Murray and Soderling match in the first couple of games you can see Murray kept rolling his right ankle/shoe on purpose and was hitting his right shoe with the racquet so many times with anger. You can tell he hates his shoes. Whether its lacking lateral support or its infamous "high to the ground" stiff feel, he definitely was blaming his shoes for something. Or he just forgot to BREAK IN them. I might sound alittle biased cause I never liked Barricades. But just watch the match you will see what I meant.

Sorry, didn't watch the match, but I do trust my barricades completely. Tried other different shoes over the years, but always keep coming back to them. May be you right - it was a break-in issue. On the other side, if you are playing bad - you gotta blame something :twisted:

Murray has been wearing barricades for ages, if he hated them I'm sure he would have switched. Probably a break in issue. Or you're just imagining things...

He did seem to have some issues with stability, but I don't think it is due to the Barricade itself, but rather to the way he has it customized probably. He might have used a different in sole or maybe he was carrying a small injury.

Don't blame the shoes (Barricade 6's)

It appears he slightly rolled his ankle during set 1 when Sods went behind him on a shot and he tried changing directions.

After that happened, he kept checking the stability of his ankle... he was also hitting the shoe/ankle with his racquet.

Murray was unfocused, distracted and out of sorts the entire match. IMO, he was looking to blame something for his poor performance.

this is why ankle braces were invented. i slide a lot and my ankles haven't gotten hurt since i started wearing them, if it wasnt for them my right ankle would be snapped

I'm not a fan of the new barricades. Not of the looks. It doesn't have any barricade heritage.

Narrow and stiff? Hardly. Wear them for more than a few hours, they break right in...

I agree. If he didn't like them, he wouldn't wear them...

he must not like them on clay.

it probably will not happen this year, seeing as though adidas sponsored him, but he's worn vapors for the clay season before. perhaps the feathers for the clay this year?
