Talking about the deep topspin moonball. I saw this video online and thought

that it might be deadly if used properly. The ball explodes off the ground and it

is hard to take on the rise, or hit a winner off. This moonball Seles hits against

Evert is remarkable.

As good as Federer or the men on tour are, how do you attack one of these

underrated shots? Can't see anyone hitting a winner 10 to 15 feet behind the

baseline out of the center of the court.

you can easily take it on the rise or just move into the court and take it out of the air.

Exactly, you have like 3 hourse to prepare, and a guy like Federer would just smack that thing cause when it comes up it has hardly any speed or something on it. Sitting duck.

it would only be effect in certain cases... and most of the time would depend on ur opponent screwing up and not u hitting a winner. Pros would know how to react to moon balls, taking it out of the air would be the best option, if ur fast enough u can get under it for a smash even.

Probably come to net, and force them to hit the perfect lob. Meaning, slice it low, come to net, and see how often they can pass you. Federer would use the short slice to lure them in and pass them. You can't moonball off of that ball he creates. Santoro would beat up a moonballer, too. Nadal is like a semi-moonballer who can handle Federer's low ball, so that is one of Fed's main problems.

well i dont know the guy who i normally play against used to do this alot to me and i got mad, especially to the backhand, but since i got better i take it on the rise and i usually play the point, i havent encountered a moonball in a long time

I'm glad I wasn't alive watching that match or I would have probably shot myself. What a disgrace to tennis.
