View Full Version : Don't Like the Styling on the Adidas Shorts

Although I mostly wear Adidas, I think their current season's style accents are dumb. It seems all their shorts and shirts worn by their players on TV have a styling design featuring an open-ended rectangle. It just looks like they ran out of ideas and felt obligated to change for change's sake.

I like and have their shorts with the stripes on the side and also have their shorts with no stripes. If, I got them for free or was paid to wear them I probably would. But I think the only ones who would pay for the them would be those who had to have the latest fashion for fashions sake.

If Adidas feels it has to make a change, I wish they would return to having a pocket on the back of their tennis shorts witch they have eliminated.

Does this open rectangle design make any styling sense? It just looks like it's slapped on there, it used to be called planned obsolecense. It's starting to annoy me, every time I see it on TV.

You can use black electrical tape to replicate the open end rectangle design.
It's a really aweful design.

It's to match the black lines on the shoulders of the competition crew.

I like the polo with all the crazy diagonal lines:

And barricades are one of the best shoes ever.

And this sweatshirt is also pretty sick:

But in general I think that other companies are doing more interesting things.

This stuff is pretty decent.. but tennis clothing overall has been pretty damn boring for many years. I mean, they do use a lot more colors than they used to (when the base color was almost always white), but nowadays the stuff looks either too simple or too complicated. Sergio Tacchini and some other smaller companies may have some hope, though. We'll see.. And some of the Nike stuff the players are going to use later this year is interesting.

I was watching some Adidas shorts wearing players in Miami (Sonyericcson) and immediately thought those shorts were really idiotic.
I thought that those square lines were supposed to look like "pockets". I remember thinging how I usually like Adidas apparel but not this season.

I guess I'm the only one that likes those shorts with the open ended box especially the spring combo white and blue. The tapes are a bit reminiscent of the compression lines (remember the "spider man" look Coria and Srichapan wore years ago).

I really dislike that green color, looks a bit geriatric to me. Although there is a dark blue and yellow color combo that just came out, looks awesome in the pic.

The short design look strange but I think the Edge group really looks bad. I just cant get used to the diagonal lines, weird colors, and 2 tone shorts.

I dont like the look of the Edge group, I love the look of the Barricade Spring group tho. Particularly the Blue/Acid Buzz polo.
