high tension sound test?

I've heard if you can can tap or hit the racquet strings you can tell if it has high tension or not. Since i'm not sure if mine is high or not since my stringer hasnt been calibrated for awhile... is this a good way to check? Of course I've played with it yesterday but I don't know if it's the strings that made it feel dead or was just higher tension...

I'm using gamma livewire xp 16 gauge.. .and heard so much good stuff about it but when i started playing it for first time it felt like "gamma deadwire" :)

I check my tensions by listening for the pitch made when tapping the strings.

But it only really works when comparing the same strings in the same racket. Different materials have different vibrating frequencies, so tension is only a piece of the puzzle. Good luck!
