View Full Version : Pros & Cons between Pro Supex Syn Gut Spiral VS Pro Supex FT Ruff
I haven't seen the comparison of both so, what do you think about them? How different? They are look the same to me so, what your thought on their full set & hybrid?

they are 2 different syn guts IMO...the spiral flex is pretty similar to PSGD in terms that it is durable and bit on the stiff end while the FT Ruff is an average well-playing syn gut

I can't exactly help with the comparison, as I haven't hit the rough. I do currently play with Spiralflex though. I enjoy it quite a bit. It's a very control oriented syn gut and pretty damn durable. I've been wanted to try the rough, but just hanve't yet.
Maybe if I ever do, i'll post some comments.

Love the Spiral Flex. I have been using it on the cross to compliment the poly on the mains. Its much stronger and last longer than PSGD. Have not played with the Ruff

I wish Spiral Flex came in a 17g. I do like it too though.

Haven't tried the spiral flex but liked the ft ruff - (which isn't rough btw).
It's claim to fame is that it holds tension well and I've found that to be true.
I find myself choosing it over gosen alot in hybrids.

The FT Ruff is the most durable synthetic 17 guage string I have found. It is really good as a cross with poly mains.

I've been using both. And like the FT Ruff because I am not a string breaker. FT Ruff holds the tension better than Spiral Flex (SF).
Durability is about the same, however, SF strings do not move at all.
I also felt that FT has more feel than SF although the FT feels alittle bit more brittler.

Is this one much better than Gosen in terms of tension maintaince and playablity?
