Note: real names have been changed to protect the stupid

Datacipher walks into indoor tennis courts, sees man stretching.

Rolf: Hello Datacipher!
Datacipher: Hello Mr. Rolf, how have you been?
Rolf: Oh good, haven't been playing a lot.
Datacipher: Oh, are you going to play some tournaments this summer?
Rolf: I hope so. I'm planning to. I got my new racquet!

Datacipher: Oh, what racquet?
Rolf: It's a Naval
Datacipher: A Naval? What brand is that?
Rolf: Oh, it's new! Naval! You haven't heard of that yet have you!!!!
Datacipher: (thinking) no....actually, I haven't....
Rolf: AHA! You don't know EVERYTHING about tennis!

(Rolf tries to occasonally ask me trivia questions, sometimes I have to correct his question before giving the answer, then I give him a hard time about it)

Datacipher: Naval....no, I haven't heard of it and I know a lot of obscure racquet brands!
Rolf: Oh, well you're going to hear about it, he's the next big up and commer, when I was down in Miami he made it to the final, so I bought his racquet.

I actually grabbed Rolf by the throat(albeit playfully) as I exasperatedly set him straight. I am still waiting for my eyes to roll back into normal range. No, there is no point to this story.

RAOTFLMFAO. Cheers Datacipher.....mine isn't that good, but I was talking to a guy at my club, and asked what strings he was using:

Him: The Andy Roddick strings
Me: Oh Babolat Pro Hurricane? Me too. Do u like it?
Him: Yeah its good.
Me: Mines a hybrid with Prince Synthetic.
Him: Yeah mad.
Me (after looking at his stick and seeing that his x's were a different string...onlu said 'Babolat' on the string): What sort of string is that cross?
Him: Its a Babolat.
Me: No I mean is it a poly or a synthetic or whatever.....what type of string.
Him: I JUST TOLD YOU.....B-A-B-O-L-A-T!

LMAO That was funny, I had a similar experience.

Me: So, you play tennis?
Her: Yeah.
Me: So what forehand grip do you use?
Her: I don't know, I think its...north-something.

When I asked my friend what grip he used, he said hammer.

Yeah, sometimes they call the continental grip "hammer grip."

Roddick was asked what grip he used in a press conference once. He said he didn't know & just demonstrated the grip on his racquet.
I remember a recent thread in which some poster criticized McEnroe for saying that a certain brand of string(Luxillon) shouldn't be used by non-pros because they would wear out their arm.
Good players don't always know anything about gear, grips, etc.

I know that the hammer grip is the same as continental, just funny to say that.
