View Full Version : Worst Prediction You've Ever Made

I'm sitting here working on the computer and glance over at the Bryan Brothers double match, and I was reminded of this time years ago. My sister and I were going to a tournament and walking through the grounds we say the Bryan Brothers playing on a side court. They hadn't reached any type of fame at that point, and my sister leaned over and said, "nice idea, but they'll never amount to much."

We all know what has happened since.

Ever been this wrong?

Predicting that Roger Federer would never win a slam, on account of him being a bigger headcase than Marat Safin.

I was convinced of this prediction until Federer won 2003 Wimbledon. And I didn't believe Federer could be dominant in tennis until he won the 2004 US Open. The way he demolished Hewitt in the final convinced me.

Actually my favourite player, regardless whether he is inactive is Marat Safin. If you'd check my posts i am also a fan of guys like Ferrer and Hewitt as much as Roddick. Sounds like you are one ignorant poster

And even if Roddick was my favourite player, losing to Federer playing your best tennis isn't ashameful. He doesn't go around handing opponents victories with double faults on match points like Tabasco does.

And i admit, Verdasco is technically better than Roddick and has less flaws in his game and has a better skillset. Roddick should lose to guys like Nadal, Murray and Federer every time. Atleast Roddick makes it that far so those guys beat him. Unlike Tabasco who is too busy choking to journeymen half of the time.

I like Roddick, he's not my favourite player. You can go ahead and say that i am a fanboy but i am actually a neutral fan of tennis. I've actually told you that verdasco is technically a better player than Roddick.

Losing in 3 sets isn't schooling. Anyway Verdasco can have his 250 events. Roddick can keep his slam and his 5 MS titles

Your final point is really disturbing. He's beaten guys like Soderling and Nadal this year and was favourite to go down in straights in both. Roddick had a tough Wimbledon 2009 draw - Berdych, Hewitt, Murray and Federer and still nearly came through.

I only watch tennis since two years ago. Usually my predictions tend to shock me. They are not predictions... They are more like 'feelings'. When i like a player he usually does good things.

- When i saw USOpen 08 QF Murray vs Delpotro i was delighted by the tennis of Mr. Del Potro and i said to a friend of mine that was watching the match with me 'well.. This is a guy to win the USOpen in 3 or 4 years'. I started to root for him and i was shocked when he won against Federer in USOpen 09.

- I saw Verdasco in a Claycourt match in 08 and i saw great potential in him and the commentators were saying that he was lazy and a party guy. Few months later he made that amazing run in the Aussie.

- I saw one of Clement early match highlights in Wimbledon 08 in court17 and i thought, this guy looks like he's doing something special according to his age ofc. He only lost to Schuettler in that epic QF match.

- I saw Gasquet vs Murray Wimbledon 2008 and i said to my friends 'this guy will make it huge.. mark my words', and he did.

- I predicted Gilles Muller run on USOPEN08.

I think i'm as good for tennis as Nostradamus is for history
